By-law No. 2012-100, Being a by-law respecting smoking in certain public places in the Township of Cavan Monaghan

Smoking is prohibited in Maple Leaf Park, Cedar Valley Park, Edgewood Park and Peace Park, and at Old Millbrook School. (If the latter simply pertains to school grounds, they are already covered under the Smoke-Free Ontario Act.) Smoking is also banned within a 9 m radius surrounding any entrance, exit or air intake at any building owned and operated by the Township, including: Township Municipal Office; Bruce Johnston Library; All Public Works Buildings, including the Transfer Station; Cavan Monaghan Community Centre; All Fire Halls; Old Millbrook School; and Lion’s Den. Other municipal property is not included in the bylaw.

Definitions

Smoke or Smoking – includes the carrying of a lit cigar, cigarette, pipe or any other lit smoking equipment.
