Bylaw C-12, Smoke-free recreational places by-law

Smoking prohibited in municipal parks, playgrounds and outdoor recreational facilities, including but not limited to a sports field, grandstand, seating area or bleacher. Smoking at the Amherst Stadium is restricted to a designated area in the parking lot that may be anywhere on the property except at the front of the building.

Cigarettes, Cigars, Pipes


“Smoke” means to smoke, hold or otherwise have control over lighted tobacco.

Playgrounds, which may include Splash Pads and Wading Pools
Sports and Recreational Fields and Facilities
