Bylaw No. 1397/2006, The Smoke Free Bylaw

Smoking prohibited on grandstands-open air seating primarily but not exclusively used for watching sporting events. Smoking also prohibited on bar and restaurant patios and sidewalk cafes. Smoking was also not allowed within 3 m of doorways of public buildings and workplaces, but that has now been superseded by Alberta’s province-wide 5 m provision. Bylaw does not mention air intakes or operable windows.

“Smoke” means to smoke, hold or otherwise have control over an ignited tobacco product including, but not limited to, cigarettes, cigars and pipes.
